I know they want him to feel good about himself, but to create a false sense of reality for the kid is cruel. If you want them to feel like equals and part of the team, this is not the way to do it.
Actually it was a pretty good way to do it. It's not like they're fucking fish, they have memory and real life experiences. Let's say you have down syndrome, do you not think an experience like that would affect you for the rest of your life?? How many chances like this are there for someone socially isolated like this? It was completely obvious that it was an awesome experience for this kid

Was nice, though it was somewhat cheapened by the "Bush engineered 9-11" clip. Not in very good taste when honoring the victims in my opinion.
I think it was saying how we might turn against each other, hence him saying something along the lines of "We are facing a difficult challenge, but we will pass the test"
