She was making sure he knew exactly why he was being punished; Because he got in trouble at school and then tried to cover it up by deceiving her. It's hard for me to believe that there's people out there that think this kid will grow up hating his mother because she punished him when he was misbehaving. Honestly, you and some of the people in the audience are reacting to the kid's screaming and crying without even recognizing that kids do that no matter what the fashion they're being punished. If she'd refused to buy him the sugary cereal he picked out at the grocery store, his reaction wouldn't be much different. Think!

I completly agree, I was taught the difference between right and wrong at the end of wooden spoons, yardsticks, and whatever else my grandmother could grab on her way to whip my ass for acting up. I dont hate my grandmother or parents because although they did keep my ass in check they didnt do it every single day, and they didnt do it just for their benefit, they let me know what I did wrong and I made sure not to do that again. I damn sure had my share of whippings but the care that she and my parents gave far outweighed the punnishments and I am a far better person because they did not hesitate to keep my ass in check. Whiney people these days, I tell you what.
