There are also experts who question that diagnosis, doctors who know aphasia when they see it. The problem may have been temporary, or it may be a hard to find condition that the initial checks missed, or maybe, just maybe, Serene doesn't want her medical information spread all over the place and she's lying about the final results. Either way, this was not a case of incompetence, but of a physical mental glitch. It's happened before. Therefore, not subject to mockery by reasonable, mature people.

He died from shame caused by knowing this was the future he was fighting for.
She's still got a job, no doubt, and somebody competent is collecting unemployment and faxing resumes.
I don't think the sudden onset of a previously unknown medical condition should be counted against a person's overall competence, but maybe I'm just being a big pussy about it.
I prefer not to mock people who are clearly undergoing a bout of aphasia caused by a physical condition in her brain. That whole idea just freaks me the fuck out.
